    • Battlefields
  • Annotation:
    • Explores Russia's use of female fighter pilots during World War II. Dubbed Nacht Hexen ("the "Night Witches") by German soldiers, they flew bombing runs against German military forces in Russia. Piloting smaller, slower, and more vulnerable aircraft than their male counterparts, they used an idle and glide strategy in hopes of masking their approach on enemy targets.
